The crown prince is straight up an irredeemable and horrible human being, there’s no two ways of seeing it… He sees his own version of Eris in spite of reality just so he can have an internal excuse for being such a piece of absolute shit to her. If it was the real Eris, then what happened was that the crown prince essentially set her up just so she can look bad as he denounces her. Manipulative asshole. This dude deserves no happy ending.
As much as I feel bad for the original Eris, I also feel bad for the person who possessed her body. it almost seems like she’s constantly having to detach herself just so she can be more accepting of her horrible situation. Like when she says “poor Eris” despite the fact that, well… woman, you ARE Eris. She’s choosing to perceive this world she got unfairly put into as “just” a work of fiction despite it clearly having already exceeded that point…
