I’m dropping this.
Reasons? A lot, for a start The ML is kinda rapey, no, saying things like “I can’t hold back anymore”&”I won’t be able to stop even if you say no” isn’t sexy, its just creepy. Now, don’t get me wrong here, this isn’t terrible character writing, he FEELS like what he is, he has the temperament, roughness and vibe of a mercenary type knight. He makes sense. Of course he wouldn’t know, of course he would be like that and say X and Y and B and A a curse and other stuff, it makes SENSE, both for the time period and the man he is.
Now, the fact that he didn’t know better doesn’t mean he didn’t rape her the day they married. God, she’s even shown traumatized by it. Her feelings on it are very valid. It wasn’t his fault, yeah, she agreed, she HAD to agree, or she would be very probably eventually killed by her father. Have sex with this dude or die kind of deal. So yeah, not his fault, not her fault either, it’s still rape, just what happened.
Next, the FL. She definitely does FEEL like a childhood abuse victim, her thoughts make sense, her skill make sense, of course she would be useless, she had no education, no proper care, nothing. Of course she would feel anxious, lost and scared. Her thought process makes sense, I can relate, how she thinks everyone angry at something/her will hurt her. Of course. That’s well done. However, that’s it. That’s what she is. An abuse victim. There’s no further depth, just that, she has no hobbies, no “pass times”, no interests, nothing. Chapter 29 and I haven’t learned a single thing about her more than she was abused as a child and thus very scared.
Hell, I know more about the mage than about her; he’s calm, playful, likes reading, sleeps in the library, lazy, messy, very knowledgeable, has a close relationship with ML, is willing to steal for more books and has magics that can revive stuff and do other fun things.
What do I know about the FL? She was abused as a child, she’s scared and she mAy have magic. That’s it.
Literally.
That’s all.

Its also very clearly an erotica and not a romance by the amount of s3x these two are having. Having compelling dialoge between the two to build their relationship? Nah, just make them fvck, that’ll do it. A problem? Lets have s3x. An emotional moment? Lets have s3x. Are you crying? Lets have s3x. Are you happy? Lets have s3x. Did you touch my face? Lets have s3x. Also, I will continue touching you even if you say you don’t want that.

Now, for an unbiased point of view.
If you like romance of this genre, this is for you, this is great by other manhwas standards. The characters aren’t THAT boring and you get a lot of spice. So, if you like spicy romance thing with muscular ML and pettite little innocent FL with a tiny bit of found family and toxicity just for the fun of it, this is great! Exactly what you’re looking for! Go for it girl, don’t let my review deterr you for enjoying what you like. This is fine and fun enough to read, dw. Don’t feel bad about liking it, its entertainment at the end of the day, and as long as you have fun, everything’s cool.
