Kinda hate how shallow the world building seems to be. In a noble family, a Duchy that relies on war to strenghten their standing at that. How could there be no mage ar their estate?? Where’s the hidden troops? A family of their standing usually have a group to do the dirty work behind the scene, it’s just seems unrealistic for the headmaid doing a the suspicious work without anyone noticing. Yes the magician did something to alter their minds, but again, it’s too convenient that there’s no mage at the estate. Even the princess has it. And the security is too lacking, no guards at night? (or maybe there is but they just not showing it)
